Manchester City assistant coach David Platt has admitted Emmanuel Adebayor could leave Eastlands when the January transfer window opens.
The 26-year-old Togolese striker has found it found it hard to nail down a place in Roberto Mancini s starting 11, and has started just two English Premier League matches this term.
Adebayor joined City from Arsenal in a 25-million-pound deal in July 2009 and has scored 19 goals in that time, but he appears set to move away from Eastlands in a bid for more time on the park.
On Tuesday, he claimed to the Belgian press he would be moving to Italian giants Juventus when the transfer window opened. Without directly confirming those reports, Platt nonetheless said there was every chance Adebayor could be on his way out of the club.
Everybody recognises that if you are not in the team you may want to move on, Platt told Sky Sports.
If it is right for Manu and right for the football club and more importantly from a business point of view, then something may happen in January.
